The lovely and talented Cheryl Hines was born September 21, 1965 in Miami Beach, Florida. She was raised in Tallahassee and was a student at the Young Actors Theatre during high school. Hines graduated from the University of Central Florida and promptly moved to Los Angeles to embark on an acting career. Heading west to become a big actor met with sweet success for Hines. Now she’s best known as the American actress who portrays Larry David's wife on HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm". In July 2006 she was nominated for an Emmy for her work on the show.
Hines is the wife of Paul Young who is the chairman of L.A.’s Groundlings Theater - the place where she started her acting career doing improvisational comedy and studied with the likes of Lisa Kudrow. Hines and Young have a 3 year-old daughter named Catherine Rose. When she’s not writing comedy sketches, acting, or tending to her duties as a mother - Hines is busy playing poker. She participated in the 2006 Pro-Am Poker Equalizer and she is a prominent figure on Celebrity Poker Showdown - the Bravo Network’s limited-run series showcasing celebrities playing poker for their respective charities. She’ll soon be featured in Calvin Ayre's Wild Card Poker on the Fox Sports Network where she won the first round and enjoyed a month of Caribbean paradise during the filming. During her first round she baffled onlookers by ousting poker greats Erick Lindgren and Humberto Brenes. The game left her shaking stunned at her own ability to win at the game. Watch Hines in all her poker playing glory when Ayre’s tournament airs on the Fox Sports Network beginning April 15.
