When you are married to a poker pro like Chip Jett, the best way to get some face time with your holdem addicted hubby is to pick up a set of playing cards. Of course any poker player with a heartbeat (and probably a few without) would probably give Karina Jett their full attention for the price of a smile and a come-hither look. In all seriousness, Karina’s love of gaming and holdem poker started long before Chip was a part of her life. Her parents were avid poker players, and places like Caesars Palace were her playground growing up. It is no surprise that she grew up with a love for casino poker, or married a poker pro of Chip Jett’s status.
Born in Saigon, but moved to Florida by her Greek-American father, she grew up in the casino poker culture that her parents lived in. At first she resisted the call of the holdem tables. While some kids refuse to eat their brussel sprouts, she apparently refused to play pocket aces. She went to college still thinking that holdem poker, stud, and draw were all about as exciting as sour milk. It was there that she took up the subject of political science (something that the rest of the world feels is about as exciting as the aforementioned sour milk), but she had to drop out in order to work in the family restaurant. At home she, with the help of her friends, rediscovered the game and showed particular flash at the game of seven card stud. It wasn’t long before she was on the west coast and employed as a casino prop player
From that springboard she was launched in the culture of professional poker players, and not only held her own, but thrived. She met Chip Jett at a tournament in 2001, and they were married 5 weeks later. Since that time she has played on just every stage that the sport of poker has to offer and her winnings reach into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Presently, she and her husband have founded Jett Poker Inc. They merchandise and sell an number of poker products.
