WSOP Show Ratings Up

By Terry I. Aino, Nov 15, 2008 ESPN

The delay to put the final table of the World Series of Poker up a day after it played turned out to be good for poker TV ratings. ESPN, the network with the exclusive rights to film and broadcast the WSOP, made a deal with Harrah's Entertainment, the parent company of the WSOP, to have them delay the play of the final table until such a point that they could air it almost live. According to reports from ESPN the amount of viewers of the final table of the 2008 WSOP main event was greater than many NBA and major league baseball games at 1.9 million households.
