World Poker Record Set

The online poker room holding the record for most players in a poker tournament is now Poker Stars, due to their efforts to set a Guinness World Record on December 28th. The tournament, which featured a buy in of $11, hoped to attract 35,000 players, and that is exactly what happened. The top 8,750 finished in the money with the winner, stan34powa making a $30,000 first place payday. The French poker player made his way through 3,500 poker tables and eight and a half hours of poker play. The top four players made at least $10k each.
