Two years ago the Royal River Casino in Flandreau declined to pay out a bad beat jackpot, and the ten players are still fighting to get their money. The $96,000 “bad beat” jackpot occurred in the Royal River Casino poker room. While the hand played out the way it was supposed to pay out the bad beat jackpot, one player mumbled the words “bad beat.” This was in violation of the casino’s collusion rules according to the casino, and the dealer disqualified the hand. A recent review of the case by the gaming commission held up the casino’s initial ruling on the matter.
