Ten poker accounts were recently closed at online poker room PokerStars. The accounts were suspected and then confirmed to be poker bots. They were running computer programs that were playing poker without human assistance. PokerStars released a statement explaining the process they used to investigate the suspected accounts, and how they had assistance from a third party poker site. The poker bots pulled in more than $57k in profit and generated more than $187k in rake. The poker room said that while their system for detecting poker bots is very effective it is not perfect.
