Eight players in a private home were busted playing poker and arrested on Thursday of last week. The raid was conducted by North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement officers. The players were arrested and the money in play was confiscated. While some states allow poker playing North Carolina is not one of them. The poker table, cards and chips were taken in the raid, and $23,700 in cash as well. The officers were acting on a number of tips from neighbors. The men will have their day in court, and will likely get assistance from the Poker Players Alliance (PPA).
