The idea that the state of California in the United States may one day have a legal intrastate online poker room has been floated before, but now some poker pundits are hopeful of making it come to pass. The biggest obstacle to online poker in the US, the UIGEA, may not be an issue at all for California, if they make it an intrastate online poker room, which is the plan. The people behind the idea are looking at the $25 billion budget deficit of the state as promising for the online poker room, which could produce $250 million in annual income.
