Online Poker Room Hits World Record

Online poker room PokerStars achieved their goal of a new world record on the last Sunday of 2009. PokerStars once again made the world record for largest online poker tournament. They were the previous record holder, and they beat their record when for $1 a total of 149,196 signed up to play. This was more than twice the last record number. There was a $300,000 guaranteed prize pool for the tournament, which was a big carrot to dangle for only a one dollar investment, and represented a big overlay for the online poker room.
