$50k in Poker Winnings for Married Couple

Jerry Walter and his wife Kathy won $50,000 between them in a poker tournament recently. The out of work Jerry was happy to see what to some would be a year’s income head his way. The two played separate tournaments but wound up qualifying for the same big event at a casino in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They both made the final table. Kathy took seventh for $10k and Jerry went heads up. He finished second for $40,000. They entered the event with winnings from prior events and are likely to use some of the money to bankroll additional poker tourneys.
