40th Annual WSOP Begins

The wait is over as the cards fill the air in Las Vegas, signifying the start of the 40th annual World Series of Poker. The 2009 WSOP has a number of special events, including Event #2, a $40k NLHE that saw 201 players enter. This put together a total prize pool of just over $7.7 million, with a first place prize just under $1.9 million and a second place prize of $1.17 million. Many big name pros joined the game, and the day ended with a few still in the race.
