Poker And Gambling Top Watchdog Named

By launchpoker, Dec 31, 2005

One of the biggest concerns poker players and other gamblers have when playing online is security. They want to know they can trust the site that is handling their money and running the software the players are using. That is where regulatory companies come in, and one of them eCOGRA, was recently named Top Watchdog of the online gaming industry.

The voluntary gaming regulatory agency eCOGRA (which stands for eCommerce Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance) received this recognition by Gambling Online Magazine, whose readers voted on the candidates for the award. A total of 27,000 readers of the magazine responded, the majority of them voting for eCOGRA. The CEO of the outfit, Andrew Beveridge, was thrilled with the accolade, recognizing that the vote came directly from the people his company works to protect.
