The struggle between law makers and law enforcement officials on one side, and everyone who is trying to profit from illegal poker on the other side, continues to grow. In the middle are those who might stray across the legal boundaries in error, due to simple misunderstanding of rules and legislation that can be difficult to define. IN Great Falls, VA, one off duty police officer found himself on the other side of the struggle, and it is yet unknown if his was a deliberate decision to break the law or a case of misunderstanding. On River Bend Road a home was raided by police, who found 60 people playing illegal poker, along with a lot of cash and a few guns. The police charged the homeowner with running an illegal gambling operation as well as illegal firearms possession. The gambling operator’s security for the operation was Haymarket police officer Robert Hoffman Jr.
