Now that the new year is almost upon the globe, those hit hardest by the mid autumn law change in the United States regarding online poker are taking a second look at the U.S. and wondering if things are going to change for the better. When the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act moved into law on October 13th, those publicly traded poker rooms, such as Pacific Poker, moved away from US facing businesses in order to safeguard not only their company, but their executives who hoped to travel in the U.S. unmolested by law enforcement. Now that a changing of the guard has occurred in the U.S. Congress, the wind may blow in the other direction in the new year, allowing places like Pacific Poker to return to the profitable American market.
