Caesar’s Palace Gets Poker

By launchpoker, Dec 23, 2005

One of the most famous and easily recognizable of Las Vegas casinos, Caesar’s Palace, will be opening a poker room this week, which marks the first time in 16 years the casino will host poker players. The room is reputed to be a $12 million room perfect for tournament play, which makes a lot of sense considering the casino’s new owner is Harrah’s Entertainment, which also owns the World Series of Poker.

Other downtown and Las Vegas Strip casinos have also reopened or constructed new poker rooms, which they had previous closed down or avoided in favor of space for more money-making games such as blackjack, or machines such as slots. When casinos make room for poker, it means they can count on making a ton of money, and is another testament to poker’s boom staying strong for years to come.
