Andy Black is a well known name to anyone who has followed poker for long. Even if a person wasn’t aware of his failed bids in the 90’s for the WSOP that ended up in a movie and Andy’s life as a Buddhist monk, his play at the 2005 WSOP final table was certainly worth of recognition.
Black is certainly back to stay in the pro poker circuit, and he nearly made off with the first place spot at the recent Northern Ireland Poker Championship that took place in his own backyard.
But it wasn’t to be as Black came in second, with a nice £22,140 prize, loosing his heads up battle with Paddy McCloskey, who took first and nearly £50,000.
The final results were:
1st Paddy McCloskey £49,200
2nd Andy Black £22,140
3rd T Chessa £9,840
4th Brian Lagan £7,380
5th Jim Cotter £6,150
6th R Deans £4,920
7th Trevor Reardon £4,305
8th Eddie Swafield £3,075
9th Shane Harker £2,460
