Much has been made about recent poker tournament announcements, notably two claiming to be the largest prize pools ever awarded, one at $60 million and the other at $80 million. While these are certainly mind-blowing prizes for a poker tournament or any kind of competition, the barrier to entry is set fairly high, with players putting up $10 million and more of their own cash to play. For the rest of the poker playing world that does not have that kind of bankroll, there are still plenty of shots at big bucks.
This weekend Absolute Poker a tournament will take place with a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000, the largest offered at this site so far. The first place winner will snag a nice $25,000 by winning the No Limit Texas Hold’em tournament.
