In Australia, gambling giant Tatts is looking for a way to add more poker machines but is running into the ceiling imposed to keep the numbers to a set level. The company said in a statement that they do not think that poker machines are addictive, saying that the money spent on the machines is a form of entertainment. They went further to say that the suggested increase in poker machines in Victoria would be in line with the population growth. Opponents took exception to the fact that the gambling company said the poker machines were not addictive.
