Last month the biggest rumor regarding online poker rooms was that Ladbrokes - the UK online gaming giant - was set to take over 888 Holdings, the parent company of Casino-on-Net and Pacific Poker. A takeover bid was in the works, according to the rumors, and recent indications suggest that those rumors were at least partially true. According to The Daily Mail newspaper the two firms have been discussing possibilities for more than a month. 888 Holdings has been thoughtful of dumping Pacific Poker after the changes in US poker law. Should the deal go through, Ladbrokes may pay between 140 pence and 145 pence a share.
