Hockey Poker Charity Event

Hockey players know a thing or two about checking, although when they do it, it may result in body injury - but soon some of the starts of the National Hockey League Players' Association will be checking, along with raising, betting and folding for a charity poker event. Filmed for airing on TSN, a seven-part, 60-minute show called the PartyPoker.net Charity Faceoff will have 16 NHLers competing for charity dollars and fame. The premier is scheduled for December 16th. There are 13 charities represented, as are teams such as Toronto Maple Leafs and the Montreal Canadiens.
