Many popular online poker rooms have long missed out on a large population of players who refuse to play at a room that requires them to buy additional software or play in a browser. The advantage of having a native Mac software program is compatibility and speed. These are Macintosh computer users, who have an operating system frequently not supported by many online poker rooms software. Recently PokerStars announced the release of a beta version of Mac software, which shows that the addition of Mac players is still on the To Do list of some poker rooms.
