Plans are underway to open up a slots parlor with potential future poker rooms in the space formerly occupied by the Bethlehem Steel Corp, unless protestors have their way. A group opposed to the development of the Lehigh Valley casino is preparing to hire attorneys and take other steps to block progress. The Bethlehem Defense Fund is the name of the outfit, and they are taking advice from traffic consultants and engineers while monitoring the Sands Bethworks Gaming LLC casino plan. The attorneys, James D. Rawlings II and Timothy T. Stevens, have been hired to pursue all avenues to prevent gaming in the area.
