The Atlantic Lottery Corporation recently received approval from the Prince Edward Island government to add four Texas Holdem poker tables at the Charlottetown Driving Park Entertainment Centre. Within the next three or four months, the new Holdem tables should be installed, but the question as to whether or not these tables will bring in more money is up for debate. Customer demands are being met, according to Provincial Treasurer Mitch Murphy, but not necessarily the demands of the bottom line. The net profit from a table hovers around an estimate $100,000 annually, but some 20 VLT machines will have to go to make room.
