Winter Bayou Poker Challenge Begins

The latest of the stops on the World Series of Poker Circuit has gotten underway in Louisiana, the $5,000 Championship Event taking place at Harrah's in New Orleans. The Winter Bayou Poker Challenge got started after three other preliminary tournament events were wrapped up, whetting the poker fans' appetite for more. There were two $1,000 events, won by John Sarver, who won $75,734, and Timothy Miles, who won $80,704. There was also a Ladies event, which was won by Wendy Michel, who took home the $10,686 first place prize. The main event will determine who will get the latest gold championship ring and a seat to the 2008 WSOP main event.
