At the Bellagio casino patrons got a chance to play Texas Hold'em in a new way; against the house, as opposed to against their fellow players. This new variant is called All In Hold’em and seemed to be successful in the trial period before it was recently approved by the Nevada Gaming Commission. The table is now available for use in all casinos in Nevada, and will soon make an appearance at the Mirage and the TI-Treasure Island in December. The game is played in the same fashion as Texas Hold'em, with two pocket cards starting a player out, and a total of five community cards being dealt. In this case, however, the game plays like Black Jack, with each player at the table comparing hands only against the dealer, who also has a hand. The dealer follows a set of rules as to when he can fold, or call, and each player has to pay the blind ante, and has options of raising a set amount or going “all in” a set amount. There is side action as well, with deals like pocket aces paying 20-1.
