The battle for poker supremacy continues in Sweden as the country's tax authority, Skatteverket, makes a claim of €4.3 million against the first online poker sites in Sweden. Multipoker.com was hit with the SEK40 million claim because, according to the Swedish National Economic Crimes Bureau Skatteverket, Multipoker.com's offices in the British Virgin Islands were only a front. Some of their shareholders were arrested in May in relation to this. According to Skatterverket all of the gaming operations were undertaken on Swedish soil, which is against the law.
