They run them in Springfield - that is one of the arguments used by Sweet Home resident Daniel Simonson when he appealed to the City Council Public Safety Committee on November 14 on the topic of Simonson's running of a poker tournament in the city limits. His plan is not to take any money from the players themselves, but rather the bars where he would set up the events. His role would be to take the fees, act as the tournament director, and distribute the prizes. Simonson runs those tournaments in Springfield, too, and wanted approval from Sweet Home before he began setting up show there. No word is forthcoming on if the proposal has been approved.
