College Poker Class Runs Charity Event

At the University of South Dakota in Vermillion a group of students are learning about "Poker and the Meaning of Life", the name of their First Year Experience Class, and one lesson will be about giving. Professor Doug Peterson and his class are putting on a poker tournament for charity to benefit SESDAC, a Vermillion organization that helps disabled individuals in the area. The class will handle fundraising, publicity and the tournament itself, learning about organization, planning and teamwork along the way. The class and professor hope to draw about 200 people to the event in order to deem it a success.
