In Saipan the Department of Labor recently ordered that a commercial cleaner forced to work with no days off as a poker cashier be compensated to the tune of $19,246.08. The poker room operator, who enforced the year long schedule on Melanie Lleno Gonzales, is Jung-A Enterprises Inc, which will now have to fork over the unpaid overtime Ms. Gonzales accrued. In addition the company was sanctioned to the tune of $3,000, or $1,000 per violation of the Nonresident Workers Act. The company is now prohibited from employing any workers not resident to the Commonwealth.
