In what has become an ubiquitous move, the leadership of a Fourth of July fireworks celebration for next year has scheduled a series of Texas Holdem poker tournaments to raise the needed money to put on the show. The president of the Moontide Water Festival Committee, Eddie Shurtleff, is the man behind the idea, and also the man who is going to run the event. Each event will max out at 100 players, who will each pay $105 to play, and the top prize could be as much as $2,600. The committee hopes to raise $25,000 through the events.
