After the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act was passed into law with the stroke of the US President George Bush's pen, the online poker industry begin to scramble into a self preservation mode. While many online poker rooms have benefited from increased customer count as others have begun to turn away US players, the entire industry still has to keep a weather eye out on the future. After their parent company was sold, online poker room Ultimate Bet decided to follow suit and will be purchased by competing poker room Absolute Poker. While the details are still forthcoming, it is believed that two rooms will continue to operate as separate brands.
