When the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act was passed into law by President George Bush on October 13th, many online poker rooms began to worry about their future. Some turned away from US players while others began to reap the benefit of staying in a market with shrinking supply and huge demand. Some, like Party Gaming's Party Poker and 888.com's Pacific Poker, have begun talking about taking some drastic steps to keep afloat after dropping the US market - steps that may include joining forces. While still in the discussion phases, the rumor has leaked that the decision makers at both Party Poker and Pacific Poker HQ's have started the talk of joining up to shore up their defenses.
