Party Poker is just one of many big time online poker rooms that lost a big pot to the US government when President Bush signed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) into being on October 13th. Not all poker rooms took a hit, however; in fact, many have seen a huge upswing in business by declaring themselves for US poker players, such as Doyles Room poker room. Poker Stars still has them beat as the leading poker room, but Doyles Room is growing in popularity every day, mainly due to player bounties and other player friendly offerings. As the UIGEA affects money transactions and does not make online poker illegal, there is nothing stopping US players from playing.
