When Susquehanna International Group LLP (SIG), a financial institution, decided to recruit the best college students for their organization, they settled on a unique way to go about it - by holding a Texas Holdem poker tournament. Inviting 83 candidates from top colleges, all of them seniors, to play in their poker tournament was a way for SIG to test their potential employee's analytical skills. Third place went to Jeremy Maletz from Columbia University along with $10,000, second place went to Eric Eisenberg from Washington University along with $15,000, and first place and $25,000 went to Ayres Fan of University of Minnesota. Another $20,000 was distributed to students from University of Chicago, Carnegie Mellon, California Institute of Technology and many other schools.
