Many US poker players will lose a shot at participating in the Ongame Poker Classic this year, thanks to a move by Ongame members such as Hollywood Poker and Poker Room.com to block access to their sites from US players. While the next thirty days will be spent wringing out the details of how it will work, according to an announcement, it seems clear that the sites in question are taking preventative steps to protect themselves in light of the new online gambling legislation in the US. Players with active accounts can currently still play, but it is unknown if this will be the case after mid-November.
