London has been named the place to play poker in Europe by a number of sources in the last year, and it looks like the locals are taking to that announcement with a bit of pride. The number and frequency of major poker events taking place in Europe are on the rise, and with it the number of players who play for fun and for profit. The recently held World Series of Poker Europe - the first one ever - has a lot to do with it, but even before that reports were showing that more people were playing poker in England - both live poker and online - this year than in previous years.
