When Australian cricketer Shane Warne co-organized a high profile poker party in order to raise funds, the idea was to send the money to the Shane Warne Foundation and Ecology Grants. The funds, coming close to $500,000 thanks to $25,000 per person tickets (paid by the likes of actor Hugh Grant and pop singer Sting), have allegedly found their way to the Conservative Party. It turns out that the Ecology Grants organization was founded by Conservative leader David Cameron, supposedly to develop political policies for the Conservative Party. Warne's spokesman says that he had no idea that politics were involved, and was focused on raising money for the Shane Warne Foundation. The causes being supported on by the party, however, were clearly listed on the poker invitations.
