Global Online Poker Firms Hold Back

When the US Congress passed a recent bill that would seriously hamper online poker play for US residents, they impacted more than their own citizens. Around the globe online gambling outfits - both poker and other forms, such as casinos - are taking care just exactly how they present their face in advertising, and to whom. Austrian online gambling outfit Bwin, for example, had its ads banned in parts of Germany, such as Bremen. The pro soccer team Werder Bremen showed support for the company by coming out in jerseys with the logo "We Win!" Such efforts are not required when the team plays in towns that are more accepting of online gambling, and the team wears their sponsor's Bwin logo instead.
