Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear is trying to seize online poker room domain names, claiming they are hurting his state’s gambling properties, and the court case where the issue is being heard was granted a continuance. The judge issued the continuance to allow the defense attorneys - those representing the online poker rooms - a chance to prepare their arguments. The lawyers represent 141 websites named in the lawsuit. The Poker Players Alliance got involved and filed a brief as a friend of the court, emphasizing that poker should not be included in the Governor’s attack as a game of skill.
