While it may seem like anyone putting on an event that has a poker theme is simply being trendy, some organizations have been holding poker runs long before the World Poker Tour and Chris Moneymaker came around. In Penns Grove, New Jersey, the local Elks Lodge are putting on a Poker Run and Pig Roast that is an annual event. The Penns Grove Elks Lodge number 1358, which is located across from the Penns Grove Post Office on Main Street, will start taking registration for motorcyclists to participate in the run from 10 a.m. until noon on Sunday. Starting at 2 p.m, food will be served and a cash bar will be available.
Participants wanting just the pig roast will pay $20 and only five dollars more will need to be paid for the roast and the run. The money will benefit NJ Elks Camp Moore for Special Needs Children.
