Singapore Welcomes Prodigal Poker Son

By launchpoker, Sep 27, 2006

When Willie Tann left Singapore over forty years ago, it was to pursue a law degree at the behest of his parents. When he arrived at school in London, he soon discovered a more compelling calling - playing poker. Picking up the card game that would have gotten him in trouble with the law back in Singapore, Tann became a pro, recently earning over a hundred thousand dollars at this year's World Series of Poker, the most recent victory in his lifetime that has earned him over one million dollars. Now Tann will return to Singapore as the face of the Asian Poker Tour during the first ever poker tournament held in that country, at the Meritus Mandarin Singapore.
