The Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Club recently took action to raise money for kids with their annual charity event, a poker run that took the cops on their motorcycles on a predetermined route to collect poker cards and raise money. The Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Pikes Peak region was the organization picked to receive the efforts from the Blue Knights' charitable run, which took riders to five different spots in order to draw a playing card. Once all five cards were drawn, the best poker hand won a prize drawing from the $13,000 raised for the event. As one Blue Knights member, Ken Hilte, said, most people don't like to see a cop show up at their doorstep or in their rearview mirror, but everyone likes to see cops helping kids in need.
