First Major Poker Event in India

Next year India will be hosting its very first major poker tournament at the InterContinental The Grand Resort Goa in early March. On the 1st of March the Asian Poker Classic will kick off, running for four days in a No Limit Texas Holdem format. Players around the world are expected to make the trip to India in order to take part in this major event, which has a prize pool of one million dollars. The tournament is hoped to bring in a lot of attention and tourism, with the attractions of Goa keeping some of it there for the long run. Bollywood celebrities and professional poker players alike will be taking part in the Asian Poker Classic, and all attendees will have the option of taking part in events in the region such as parties and a celebrity golf tournament.
