On Saturday the Make-a-Wish Foundation will be the benefactors of a third annual benefit poker ride at Wylie Park beach. Hosted by the Spirit Riders, participants will ride their bikes 140 miles, ranging from Wylie to Mellette, Redfield, Faulkton, and finally to Ipswich before riding back to Wylie. Before a free picnic at 4 p.m. the riders will end their route and draw poker cards to try and win prizes. With only a $5 entry fee, participants are likely hoping for a large turnout. The run registration will run from 11 a.m. to noon, and families interested in participating will be welcome to do so. After registration, they will encouraged to get into their cars and embark on the run. In addition to the registration fee, money will be raised for Make-a-Wish through raffle ticket sales.
