ND Representative Wants to Legalize Online Poker	Sep 17 2006, 01:06

Online poker organizations looking forawrd to establish their businesses in the state of North Dakota may soon be able to do so. Jim Kasper, the state’s representative, has plans to introduce a bill that, if accepted, will allow online poker in North Dakota.

The idea that Republican Kasper wants to enforce is that online poker companies would be required to be established in the state as well as process funds through the state’s banks - the measure to protect players’ money. Also the bill will require the businesses to leave out dealing with sports betting in order to prevent any legal misunderstandings. The bill also deals with the questions like gaming addiction and underage online poker playing - the special software would allow to conduct age verification processes as well as provide the state with an ability to recognize the players who demonstrate the signs of gambling addiction.

If passed, the bill, which suggests to tax online poker businesses, will help lower property taxes currently paid by the state’s residents.
