Peter Dicks, Chairman of SportingBet.com, resigned today after being arrested in the Unites States last week for accepting online poker and gaming bets from US citizens. Dicks notified SportingBet of his resignation and the company reluctantly accepted. In contrast to BetonSports.com, SportingBet.com stood by their man after his arrest. BetonSports.com quickly released their CEO David Carruthers in an apparent move to distance the company from him.Dicks is now back in England after a night in jail and posting $50,000 bond. He will have to return to New York on September 28th to continue court hearings and he could face extradition to Louisiana, the location of the original arrest warrant.Meanwhile, as SportingBet.com begins the search for a new Chairman, thousands of Americans continue to play online poker and place bets with the company. SportingBet.com appears to have no intention to stem this activity.
