In a broad show of support on Monday, over 3,000 poker activists picked up the phone and contacted their state senators' offices to relay a unique sentiment: online poker in the US should not be banned. Messages were left for senators from Hilary Clinton to Bill Frist regarding the importance of the freedom to play online poker. The overwhelming message to legislators was to regulate, not eliminate the pastime.The organizers of the action were Pocketfives.com and the Poker Players Alliance. Word was spread in chat rooms, blogs and press releases. Support was easily found as opposition to recent arrests of online gaming executives in the US that hit nerves across the nation and around the world.The focus of the demonstration is a bill named H.R. 4111.
