$1 Million Purse for Poker

An Auckland casino will be boasting a big prize purse soon if SkyCity Entertainment Group has its way. SkyCity will host the inaugural Skycity Festival of Poker next month, shooting for a $1 million, the largest ever prize pool in New Zealand. The event will run from October 4 to October 12, and the field is expected to number in the hundreds as locals and pros flying in will play. Numbered among the big name pros are Lee Nelson, Greg Raymer and Joe Hachem - the latter two being World Series of Poker champions.
