WPT Welcomed Back to Borgata

For the third year in a row, the World Poker Tour will be hosted at the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa, with games that got underway September 11th and will end in the Borgata Poker Open September 19th through September 22nd.


With an anticipated prize pool of about $5 million, the 500 or so tournament players expected have something to shoot for.


The Travel Channel will continue to show the World Poker Tour stops, of which the Borgata Poker Open is only one of sixteen.


Jim Rigot, Borgata's vice president of casino operations, his happy about the arraignment. "Borgata is thrilled to be hosting the World Poker Tour again this year," Rigot said.


The $10,000 buy-in event in Atlantic City expects to see play from some of the globe’s best poker players in No-Limit Texas Holdem, such as David Williams.


"I am really looking forward to the Borgata Poker Open this year," said Williams. "The stakes will be higher, there will be more talent, and I always enjoy the energy, atmosphere and people at Borgata. It is one of my favorite destinations on the tour."
