When you are fighting a tough disease and the doctors give you 50/50 odds of surviving, you could use all the help you could get, and Sydnee Owens recently got a little odds-evening help from the Loup Valley Road Riders. The poker run (a motorcycle course run by participants who collect playing cards to build a winning hand) raised money that goes to pay medical costs for the Aurora Family. Sydnee is suffering from a rare disease that affects only one out of a hundred thousand people, called HLH. Sydnee needs a bone marrow transplant as the next course of treatment, something that requires a donor match. Doctors tried to match her and her sister, but the bone marrow was not compatible enough to work.
